Guide Review - MAXM Components - MX-5 Handlebars

Some of us have been riding the MAXM MX-5 bars for a couple of years now. They are one of the lightest low rise (1" rise) bars around and we all like the comfortable fit.

The MAXM MX-5 bars are very stiff and responsive. They are made with a technology called IsoGrid. IsoGrid creates an internal skeletal structure that creates a stronger, stiffer composite part. For technology enthusiasts, there isn't a more structurally advanced bar on the market.

As with most composite bars there are some drawbacks. Composite bars do not take damage as well as standard aluminum bars. I single deep scratch on the surface of a composite bar should be taken seriously. The ends of composite bars, while not a significant concern, are more vulnerable to damage during a crash.

The MAXM MX-5 bars weigh 135g and come with a lifetime manufacturing defects warranty.
