Guide Review - Descente Newton Mountain Bike Shorts
We really liked the Descent Newton mountain bike shorts. These are true high performance shorts. The removable liner is top notch and doesn't' have that lovely diaper feeling some of us have come to know a little too well. The construction of the Descente Newton short is high performance from every angle. The welded seams, lightweight material, stretch panels, adjustable waist, and close fit all add up to a short that moves where it should but isn't bulky and won't flap in the wind.
The Descente Newton mountain bike shorts have two zippered pockets if you need a place to stash something. However, we were a bit suspicious of the outside non-zippered mesh pocket. It looks nice but I'm not sure I'd put anything in it and expect to find it after a ride.
One of the best features of these shorts is the removable liner. Not only is the liner super comfortable, but you can take it out and use it with other pants and shorts as well. In some cold weather, I pulled the liner out and wore it under some winter tights with the Newton shorts over the top.
Overall, these are great high performance shorts.
