Read on to find out what will hit bike shop shelves in 2014 from Timbuk2 and Pearl Izumi.
Timbuk2 COG Pannier
The new weatherproof COG Pannier from Timbuk2 can be worn on your bike as well as your body. A “fast clip” allows you to attach and detach the pannier from your bike with ease. When removed from the bike, utilize the detachable shoulder strap to wear the COG like a briefcase or across the body. The pannier is made from a weatherproof and durable fabric so you can carry your goods without worrying if they’ll get dirty. Additional features include a padded laptop compartment and a separate padded iPad pocket. Available in the color black. MSRP: $139
Timbuk2 Sleuth Camera Pack
If you enjoy taking photos and mountain biking as much as I do, the new Sleuth Camera Pack from Timbuk2 is right up your alley. Take it on your next epic mountain bike ride or bikepacking adventure and capture the shots you lust after in magazines. This camera backpack features two compartments: stow your camera gear on the bottom and personal gear up top. The Sleuth fits a DSLR, two additional lenses, a flash, and other accessories, such as memory cards and filters in its padded camera compartment. Several pockets inside and outside of the bag are ideal for small camera gear and electronics. Additional features include a padded laptop compartment and ventilated back panel to keep you cool. The Sleuth is available in February 2014 at specialty retailers. MSRP: $139.
Timbuk2 Seat Pack XT
Timbuk2 has improved its original bike seat pack to include a simple and secure on/off bike attachment, adjustable buckles that will attach the bag to seat rails in multiple positions, a bungee to fit many different seat post sizes and a wide mouth opening so you can get to your gear fast. A version of the seat pack with dedicated pocketing for tools is available and comes with 3,4, 5 and 6 mm allen keys; a multitool with bottle opener; custom tire levers and a phillips head screwdriver. Available in Black, Gunmetal, White, Bixi Red/Black, and Emerald/Reso Yellow/Bixi Red. Choose from a size small or medium. MSRP: $25 (small); $28 (medium); $45 (medium with tools). The Seat Pack XT will be available in February at specialty retailers.
Pearl Izumi MTB Barrier Jacket
Pearl Izumi has added the MTB Barrier Jacket to its collection of clothing that features “Barrier” fabric and is designed with trail riders in mind. The new addition offers a full length design, center zipper with draft flap to seal in warmth, drawcords at the waist for adjustment, one chest pocket, two hand pockets, abrasion resistant panels on the outside of arms, wind protection and water resistance. Made from 100 percent polyester. MSRP: $95
Pearl Izumi W Symphony Short
Fashion meets function in the new Women’s Symphony Short from Pearl Izumi. How so? Fashion comes in the form of a flattering V waistband. Textured ELITE Transfer fabric with In-R-Cool® technology fabric and Pear Ixumi’s Women’s ELITE 3D Chamois make these shorts functional as well. Additional features include an anatomic multi-panel design, one side pocket and reflective elements for low-light visibility. The size medium has an 8-inch inseam. MSRP: $110.
