Uvex Quatro Pro Mountain Bike Helmet
The new Quatro Pro mountain bike helmet from Uvex features a height adjustable visor and adaptors for a light or camera. Ideal for either enduro or all-mountain use, the Quatro Pro’s long visor offers glare protection from the sun, and a spoiler at the back gives the helmet a racier look. A custom fit without pressure points is created with an anatomic IAS fit system, including wing-shaped supports at the back of the helmet, left and right of the fit wheel. The Quatro Pro’s lining is made from antibacterial, anti-allergenic, fast drying material that can be both removed and washed. The helmet features a universal mount on the top and comes with adapters for a helmet light or camera. Available fall 2013 in bike retailers.
Sigma Sport ROX 6.0 CAD
The new ROX 6.0 CAD from Sigma Sport is a bike computer that features altitude measurement, speed, heart rate and cadence information. The ROX 6.0 offers 19 hours of storage capacity, which lets you analyze your ride stats and graphics on a PC or Mac when using the Sigma Data Center. Ideal for mountain bikers, the racy-looking computer has a new lap function that lets you record and evaluate up to 99 individual laps. When in lap mode, 13 different functions can be recorded, such as lap time, distance, heart rate, speed, altitude gained and more. Also included in the computer is an intelligent altitude calibration (IAC), which stores the current altitude in sleep mode while the device is not moved. This counteracts changes due to weather influences. The ROX 6.0 additionally features a four-row display and five-button panel. Attach the ROX 6.0 to a hiking strap, and the bike functions and lap counter become hidden, but important hiking functions, such as heart rate, hiking time, altitude and graphs, are displayed. You have the option to train based on four standardized or customized intensity zones. The ROX 6.0 CAD is available at bike dealers.
Schwalbe ROCK RAZOR
Schwalbe has unveiled the fastest tire in its Super Gravity series, the semi-slick Rock Razor. Mount it on the rear wheel and it’ll show off—especially on dry, fast terrain. The Rock Razor features fast, flat studs in the tread’s center and solid studs on the tire’s shoulders. Schwalbe says it’s “the best tire for Enduro races on dry ground” when it’s combined with Hans Dampf or Magic Mary on the front wheel. Based on motorcycle tire technology, the Super Gravity carcass design features layers that overlap at the side walls instead of under the tread. The Rock Razor is responsive, yet stable and puncture proof. Additional features include a low weight (from 925 grams), tubeless ability and an optional pure SnakeSkin version. The Rock Razor will be available starting September 2013 from specialty bike stores in 26 and 27.5 x 2.35 sizes. Priced at 59.90 Euros.
