Guide Review - Crank Brothers 5050 Pedals - 5050 Platform Pedals from Crank Brothers
We also took the crank Brothers 5050 pedals to Moab for some real abuse on a couple runs on the UPS/Porcupine Rim circuit (just about the best trail ever). Just to try to finish them off, our last test runs with the Crank Brothers 5050 pedals took us down a few of our local downhill trails for some jumping and grinding in the snow and mud.
Although we did our best to destroy the Crank Brothers 5050 pedals we only ended up with a few meager scratches. No lost pins, no broken plates, and no structural or functional damage whatsoever.
In the mud and snow we had no problem hooking up with the Crank Brothers 5050 pedals. The platform has some large cutouts and has a nice concave shape. This allows the Crank Brothers 5050 pedals to shed mud and snow effectively and makes for good contact with the shoe.
The profile of the Crank Brothers 5050 Pedals seams reasonably thin and we didn't hit any more rocks or obstacles than usual.
We liked the replaceable, custom colored plate and pin options. They really make the Crank Brothers 5050 pedals stand out among their competition. Take a look at the options available and you'll find yourself wanting to customize your own pair.
Great pedals...
