The goal of the new BALANCE BAR Community Grants is to enable organizations to passionately pursue physical activities that enrich the lives of those in their neighborhood. A representative may apply on behalf of their organization and can request up to $25,000 in grant funding, which must be dedicated to a project that will provide their members, as well as community residents, opportunities to lead healthy, active lifestyles.
“The Balance Bar Food Company has a mission to support local communities in offering more programs that will increase their residents’ ability to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles.” says Sharon Fox, Brand Director for BALANCE Bar. “Organizations that have a common goal of improving their members’ health, while at the same time improving their neighborhood, are perfect candidates for this program.”
Eligible organizations include but are not limited to: road runner clubs, trail conferences, parks and recreation departments, athletic programs and leagues, youth organizations, etc. Only non-profit organizations are eligible.
Applications must consist of a statement of purpose, photographs of the organization engaged in activity, a budget of the proposed project, as well as a statement from an officer of the organization confirming non-profit status accompanied by supporting documentation, such as a tax identification number.
Those organizations interested in being considered should apply online at www.balance.com. The representative applying will be asked to fill out a Statement of Purpose explaining how a grant from the Balance Bar Food Company will help the organization better their community and how the members will achieve their goal.
Grant applicants must be 18 or over and a legal U.S. citizen. Only those organizations that are registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profits are eligible to apply for a BALANCE BAR Community Grant.
