According to the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA), the Monument Road Lunch Loop trailhead--which represents a portion of the larger 143-mile Tabeguache Trail system--is about to undergo a major facelift.

The "Lunch Loop Bike Park" is a 5-month project spearheaded by Jen Taylor, officer, COPMOBA Board of Directors. When it's all said and done, the park will consist of skills lines, a pump track, graduated beginner to advanced jump lines and a dual slalom (DS) course.

Taylor, an avid mountain biker, noted that the idea for the bike park "came out of nowhere." The mother of three's motivation was close to home: kids.

"Every aspect of the bike park has been centered on the pivotal goal of getting kids outside and connecting them with nature," she was quoted as saying in a press release.

Help Taylor turn her dream into reality by joining her this Saturday at the Lunch Loop Trailhead from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and lend a hand in the creation of this new bike park.

The project is scheduled for completion Friday, October 15.
