Demo Tours

Monday March 17, 2008
If there's a bike you really want to get on this year, you might find it on a demo tour.

Most bicycle manufacturers have at least a limited demo schedule. The demos usually happen either at a local bike shop or an event, and in most cases all you need to get out on a bike is a drivers license and credit card (for deposit). They shouldn't charge you anything, and you should make sure they take the time to properly set the bike up for you. Show up ready to ride with your own gear, and it doesn't hurt to bring your own bike or your pedals along as well.

The best way to find out if the bike you are interested in is going to be out on tour is to check with your local shop, and especially with the manufacturer itself. Most of them, with any serious demo commitment, will post a schedule online.
