Staying in Shape

Friday December 28, 2007
A lot of us live where we can't ride over the winter without some serious travel. Although I do make my share road trips over the winter, I do have to make some extra efforts to stay in shape. Snowboarding and backcountry touring are my main source of exercise in the snowy months, but I have found that if I don't crank some pedals from time to time I will quickly loose my riding legs.

It's not that hard to do a little training from time to time. I get on a trainer here and there and I also go to spin classes when I can. It doesn't take a whole lot to keep a little of your legs around. Three times a week will keep most of us from loosing anything at all, but once or twice a week will keep you from having rubber legs when the riding season comes along.
