Is Your Riding Season Over?

Monday December 3, 2007
We finally got enough snow here to end the local mountain bike season, but there's no way my riding season is over. I've decided not to have a season this year.

There are lots of options to keep you riding. If you get snowed out where you live, road trips and travel are the obvious solution, and there are plenty of places to go. You just need to put some effort into it and things can happen. Pretty much anywhere here in the U.S., you simply need to get in your car and start driving south.

I've made a commitment to ride all winter, not every day, but at least a good road trip every month to somewhere a little more dry and warm for a few good rides.

Think about it. This year could be the best winter riding season you've ever had. Well, it will be for sure if you've never actually had a winter riding season.

I can’t wait for a lot of snow here, I’m ready to ride right through it!

I live in Northern Ontario, Canada, and am now embarking on my sixth season of Winter riding. I own no car, only my trusty alloy steeds to get my back and forth to work and wherever else life may take me.

This year I bought a whole new bike, specifically assembled with the various trials and tribulations of Winter in mind. Not to mention, I like to spare my summer rigs from the terribly harsh conditions.

If you can’t stop just because the snow fell, then I recommend getting some Disc Brakes and Fenders. Both items will be instantly appreciated.

Dress warm, roll safey and enjoy it!
