Test Ride Blues

Saturday September 22, 2007
There is something inherently dissatisfying about a quick test ride.

I tell people all the time that the most important thing to do when looking at new bikes is to do a lot of test rides. Not only do you need to get a feel for how bikes differ from brand to brand and model to model, but you should also get a feel for what size bike fits your body best.

The dissatisfying part is that when you get on a bike to test it out, you have to ride it like you're on a ride, but really, you're in a parking lot, and you have to get off again in about 5 minutes.

If you want some more info on buying a new bike, and on how to get the most out of your test rides, check out our guide to how to buy a bike
