Avoiding the Re-Flat

Wednesday September 5, 2007
One of the most common mistakes people make when repairing a flat out on the trail is to skimp on air pressure in the newly repaired tire. Pumping a large volume tire with your trail pump is usually both time consuming and tiring. It's always tempting to stop a little early, and leave the pressure a little on the low side.

Unfortunately, this often leads to another flat. When you skimp on tire pressure, chances are, you will find yourself with a pinch flat further down the trail.

So, when you get a flat out on the trail, take the time to make sure you pump your repaired tire back up to the right pressure, it will often keep you from having to start all over again in just a few minutes.
