Racing?

Tuesday June 27, 2006

Mountain bike racing isn't for everybody. Not because some people aren't good enough, but because racing just doesn't fit with some peoples personalities, they just don't want to race.

Even though I'm well aware that I'm not racing to win, I still love it. For me, I just love getting out and pushing myself. I also enjoy the good company.

If you're thinking about racing, all I can say is give it a try. You might discover that it's more fun than you think. Then again, you might just hate it. You'll never know until you give it a go.

I agree that racing is not for everyone. I take my son, who is 7 to his first race and now I can’t get him off his bike. I took the whole family and my wife enjoyed the other racers and their families, plus my daughter wants to get the training wheels off so she can also race!
It is great fun for us all to go out and see what we can do… even those of us who like my wife do not race. I want my childern to know that its not always about winning… but winning is fun! ; )
