Flat Tires

Thursday April 27, 2006

I'm out in Arizona this week, both working and riding, and doing my best to have a good time.

I had a laugh tonight when I found myself walking a flat tire back to to where I'm staying with dinner and drink hanging on my handlebars. I put so much effort into encouraging people to always be prepared for a flat, but even I get caught once in a while.

What I thought would be a nice evening ride through the streets of Pheonix, turned into a couple mile walk and unfortunately, both a luke warm dinner and a luke warm drink. Whatever.

Anyway, it reminded me that we have an entire section devoted to Flat Tires. Check it out and you'll know just what I'll be doing later.

Tell me about it! I live (and ride) in AZ and have liners plus “slime” in both tires and STILL have flats. After a couple of “walks” back home I now carry a spare tube and a couple of tools (includes the pump, of course) to make “desert” repairs. A few minutes of sweating during the repairs sure beats the walk back.
