U.S. Nationals - Day 4

Friday September 23, 2005
The last day of the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships started with some Short Track XC racing and the beginner/sport Downhill races. The pros and the semi-pros finished the day with their championship on the downhill course.

With hours of rider time and wear on the downhill course, the pros and semi-pros had their work cut out for them. Some corners were completely blown out making it nearly impossible to get set up for some of the drops and other technical sections.

The weather finally cooperated on Sunday with nearly no wind and nice temperatures.

Overall, the US Nationals was a great event with tons of good riding, racing and spectating. Mammoth did an excellent job and it's a great place for the Nationals. I'm already looking forward to next year.

While I'm glad to have made it through the season without injury, some were not as lucky. Let's hope everyone gets better over the winter.
