Snowmass NORBA National - Day 3
The first race of the day was the Super D, early in the morning, on a tough course with some serious climbing. Race organizers skipped the le mans style start and went for a time trial instead.
The Super D was quickly followed by the beginner and then sport XC races. This created a bit of a scheduling problem, making it difficult if not impossible to race both Super D and XC for a lot of racers.
The afternoon started with the expert and jr. expert DH races. Once again, the Jr. Experts were the most impressive, putting in times close to what the pro's should do on day 4. Some of these riders are just waiting to turn 18 so they can move into the semi-pro and pro classes.
The sport and beginner DH races ended the gravity events for the day. The scheduled and much anticipated semi-pro/pro mountain cross finals of the day were canceled due to one of the craziest thunderstorms I've ever been in. No word yet on a reschedule.
Unfortunately, there were still some pro/semi-pro XC racers out on course when the storm hit. Things must have been a bit sketchy out there.
